Listen to the testimony of Lisa Kessler-Peters, speaker, mentor, advocate, and author of her memoir, Why I Tried to Die. In addition to sharing her story with others, Lisa works to spread trauma-informed awareness through the justice system, seeks to empower those who are struggling, and to educate those who encounter victims of neglect and abuse. Enjoy poetry from Anita Garber, hear stories of transformation and the impact of the local Church and Keystone Family Alliance on the Child Welfare System in Cumberland County. Talk with county child welfare agencies and ministries to explore ways that you can serve children and families in Cumberland County, and enjoy fabulous desserts and refreshments.
