WBS Summer Sessions

Prayer is a powerful, beautiful, and complex gift given to us by our heavenly father. We are told in scripture to be constantly praying because God cares for us and He hears us. This Summer we will study four specific types of prayer: Intercession, Adoration, Lament, and Unification. We hope you will join us for each session as we grow together in our understanding and love for the gift of prayer.
Each session is standalone and there are both morning and evening options. Details for each session are below. Childcare is available for morning sessions only, registration is required one week prior to each study date.

  • Session 1: Prayers of Intercession by Jada Edwards

    Tues, Jun. 11 @ 9:30 – 11 a.m. or 6:30 – 8 p.m. (Rooms 200 – 204)

We pray for others because that is what Jesus did – and still does, from his place at the right hand of the Father. As his followers this is an important part of our ministry, too. But what does this look like? Together, let’s seek answers to this question.

  • Session 2: Prayers of Adoration by Jen Wilkin

    Tues, Jun. 25 @ 9:30 – 11 a.m. or 6:30 – 8 p.m. (Rooms 200 – 204)

David was known as a man after God’s own heart. Scripture is filled with his praises towards God, which serve as a great example for us as we praise God through prayer. We’ll study Jen Wilkin’s verse-by-verse teaching through this psalm as it highlights the attributes of God.

    Tues, Jul. 16 @ 9:30 – 11 a.m. or 6:30 – 8 p.m. (Rooms 200 – 204)

We create or destroy worlds with our words. How does God’s word teach us to bring oneness into a divided world? Let’s investigate this more together in our final summer session.

Childcare is available in the morning, space is limited, please register by July 9.

  • Session 4: Prayers of Lament by Jennifer Rothschild

    Tues, Jul. 30 @ 9:30 – 11 a.m. or 6:30 – 8 p.m. (Rooms 200 – 204)

“In this world you will have trouble”a phrase told to us by John in the gospels, and we know it all too well. We all experience pain, toss, sadness, sickness and despair. How are we to pray faithfully when hope seems thin? Well, good news! God has given us a model of prayer for even the hardest of situations.
