Radiant Hope’s mission is to support and encourage those whose lives have been impacted by cancer. By hosting a Pack Party, you take time to fill care packages together and pray for each recipient.
We follow Jesus by loving our neighbors through service. Our community partners provide ways to care for the hurting, meet the vital needs of our neighbors, invest in the next generation and support vulnerable families.
This list is designed to be a starting point for involvement as you explore the many possibilities for using your gifts to bless the community.

Be part of the healing treatment process for children with clubfoot by hosting a brace-painting party. Hope Walks brings hope and healing to families in Africa and Latin America.
Help Wildheart Ministries with the “Love the Hill” initiative focused on building relationships through community restoration projects in Allison Hill.
Serve at one of New Hope Ministries’ eight locations that help neighbors in need of a variety of services, including food, help with rent/mortgage, transportation or job skills training.
Provide childcare on Monday evenings at Brethren Housing’s location in Harrisburg so moms who are part of the “Next Steps” program can attend weekly life skills training.
Bethesda Mission provides a safe place for men and women in need of shelter, food, and clothing. Choose from various serving opportunities at the men’s shelter, women’s shelter, or youth community center.
With 14,000 kids in foster care and 2,000 kids awaiting adoption in Pennsylvania, there are a lot of tangible needs from foster, adoptive, and biological parents. Keystone Family Alliance has developed a program called Gateway, an online portal that connects people to the needs of vulnerable children and families in their community. Gateway is a simple and easy way for everyone to do something.
Serve at Mission Central and help fill bags of food for over 400 families in need through an assembly line process once a month with a team from the church. This opportunity is to serve during the day.
Mentor a student in grades 4-12 once a week at Center for Champions’ Rooted program. Center for Champions connects students with a Christian mentor and provides weekly activities so relationships can grow.
Tutor a student at the Community Resource Center in grades 1 – 5 who has been referred by Mechanicsburg Area School District. Tutors focus on interactive learning with an emphasis on helping with homework and grade-level skills.
Serve with a team to offer friendship, resources and life skills mentoring to a refugee family resettling in the Mechanicsburg area. Welcome teams come alongside a family for their first year of rebuilding their lives and establishing self-sufficiency in a new community.
Care for vulnerable children by supporting foster families as part of a Care Community, a team who provides a variety of practical support over the course of one year.
Help form a Neighboring Volunteer Group, 6 to 10 people, committing to love a single parent facing homelessness. Offer emotional support, encouragement, and invitation into the life of a faith community as the family participates in Bridge of Hope’s 18-24 month program.
